I'm new to DNN and am creating a custom module.  With a previous version of the module I was able to install the module into my testing environment and access the Settings for the module.  I have made some changes to the Settings control and to the manifest and was able to install using the new manifest but I get an error when I try to place the control on a page.  The error is:
Line: 868
Error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException:  An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 500.

I tried wiping out all of the vb code in the Settings control and trying again but I still get the same error.  What other types of things should I be looking for?  I was able to successfully place a standard DNN control on the same page so I'm assuming that it is a problem with my code but I'm not sure where else to look.

Any clue would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Stymied

try disabling partial rendering on the module (in host->module definitions), that will let you know what the actual error is , rather than just a failed MS ajax request

Thank you for the suggestion.  I gave it a try but I'm still getting the same error.  Any other ideas?

Still Stymied.

at this point I'd recommend that you install the symbol files so hopefully more information is captured (e.g. 5.6.1's symbol files can be found at http://dotnetnuke.codeplex.com/releases/view/59419 ). Also, you should consider starting vs.net and trying to attach the debugger to see where the actual error is.

I decided to redo my development environment in the hopes that I could make some progress with this. Thanks for your efforts.
