Hello All,
Firstly, I'm not a web developer, however I have been assisting some friends with updating their website. I've worked out getting round modules, uploading video and many other bits and pieces however they would like the colour scheme (skin) changed. I believe the original was done as a custom skin but for the life of me I can not get round (or find) how & where to change the colour scheme in use.

The chap who designed the site originally is an 'ex-communicated' family member who was working for a web design agency, however, he has since left and the new staff only work on PHP sites.

The layout is fine I just need to change the colours. The web address is www.pallatrax.co.uk

Is there anybody out there who can point me in the right direction? or do it fo a fee?

I look forward to any help the community can offer.

There are really two ways to go:

1. You hire someone to make the skin changes for you.  In this case you need someone who knows how to work with DNN skins and they can make whatever changes you need made.  The cost would depend upon how easy/hard it is to change the colors within the existing skin.

2. You go to www.snowcovered.com and look for a new skin.  You make get into some 'rearranging' of the content once the new skin is applied but nothing would be lost.  This option is likely your most cost effective and the quickest as well.

Hope this helps,

Or if you know a bit about html & css, you can read the skinning documentation http://www.dotnetnuke.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=UvGirRQpGRo%3d&tabid=478&mid=857 and then modify the existing skin to your needs. Dotnetnuke skins are basicaly html & css files using tokens that act as placeholders for the dotnetnuke elements. If there is only colors and images to change, it should not be too dificult since you won't really have to play with the tokens.

On a quick look - it would appear that most of the color details for the site are setup in the following style sheet file.

http://www.pallatrax.co.uk/Portals/0/...

To alter the colors you would at a minimum need to change the color values in this file. You may also need to change the container.css files as well depending on how the original skin was developed.'

Thanks for the replies one and all. :-)

I'd located the form and changed the colour definitions and 'most' of the components changes as desired; left menu, drop downs etc however the main header and left menu were not within that list and could not be changed..

Will have a read of the PDF link that's been posted and have another go when I get a few minutes quiet time.

Thanks once again.
