I'm using the default install of DotNetNuke 5.6.2 as provided by GoDaddy.com.

I'm having the same basic problem with IE 8.0.6001.19048  and Firefox 3.6.16.

I log on as either the site admin or the superuser.

At the top of each module on a page is the module title.  To the left of it is a small triangle graphic that is for the module menu.  When I try to access this menu by moving the mouse over it, it misbehaves.

Doesn't matter which module I pick, I get the exact same behavior.

On firefox, the triangle turns into a whirling gear-like icon. The menu control just goes off to la-la land and the graphic continues to whirl.

On IE, I get the same whirling gear-like icon.  Then I get an error message show up in the IE status bar.  This is the error message:

Anyone have an idea of how to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

David,
Are you using a custom skin? If so try this with the Minimal Entropy skin that ships with DNN. I've seen this before on custom skins but never dove into why.

I did the default install and used the default (and only) skin.  The skin name is "Minimal Extropy", which is what I'm guessing you meant.

I realized that when I first installed it last week I didn't remember it working wrong. I was working over a slow connection so I had set some host optimization settings.

I just undid this change: Host Setting-> Advanced Settings-> Performance Settings-> Compression Setting and put it back to No Compression.

All is well.

Glad you worked it out.
