I installed DNN on my PC locally using WebMatrix. Then I ran the DNN website in WebMatrix, logged in and tried to edit content. But when I clicked on the edit button the whole DNN website just froze. None of the buttons worked anymore, I could not even type on the screen. Would this be a problem of WebMatrix or of DNN?

Can anybody advise me what to do so that I can edit content while on a DNN website in WebMatrix? Am I doing something wrong?

I am trying to get to know DNN so that I can make a website with it.

But DNN installed locally with WebMatrix is so unstable that it is no good.

Which is sad.

High,

I would try to install DNN either the "normal" way, or using MS Web Installer. I can't tell you anything of installing DNN using WebMatrix, but afaik this is not really a "professional" tool.

Best wishes
Michael

*** UPGRADE: Oh, I just realized this answer is a bit late :-) Anyway: It was the first thread shown in "Unread threads", so maybe this is a bug in this view... ***

I've used it a few times and IIRC you must keep the tool open in order to use the URL that it dynamically assigns at that time. Other than that I've never had any issues.

MIchael brings up a good point -- try the MS web installer. It's pretty good.
