Hi, just took over administration of a site using DNN and I need to download the existing site templates to make changes to them. All I see are upload and delete as options. Any pointers?

Thanks in advance!

you can locate the files in the filesystem e.g. Portals\_default\Skins (and any other portals e.g. portals\0\skins)

Buy the new Professional DNN7: Open Source .NET CMS Platform book Amazon US

Hmm... thanks but I'm a bit puzzled. What I think is the folder's you're talking about don't have any of the skin files.

If I go into "Admin->File Manager" and then look the file explorer at "Portal Root->Skins" the folder is empty.

Likewise if I look the "AdminUser->File Manager" in the explorer at "AdminUser->Skins" I have an empty folder "_default" and another folder "MinimalExtropy" that looks to be some other skin as it has none of the images, etc... for my site in it.

Any other ideas? just about clicked through every menu item and I'm really drawing up a blank.

Thanks!

Hey Bryan,

The files you are looking for cannot be viewed from inside the dnn filemanager.  You need to access your site root folder using FTP or direct access to the file system.

From the navigate to \Portals\_Default\skins\ folder for the skin  or \Portals\_Default\containers\ for containers
