Hello guys,

I'd like to start playing around with the latest version of DNN, which I believe is 6.

After looking around I'm still a little unsure about the hardware requirements. Is there an absolute minimum server and ASP combination for DNN? Or does each version have its own requirements?

Any help would be appreciated.

I would use at min. :

Windows Server 2008 (2003 should also run)  Webserver Edition or XP Windows7 professional (for local or develope use) with .Net 3.5 better .NET 4.0 installed.
Also you need a SQL Server 2008 (min. Express Ed.) Database.

For install instruction please look to the wiki, or some videos you can found on Dotnetnuke.com.

You really don't need WIN 7 Professional for development - pretty much any version of WIN 7 can be used = and with the WebMatrix IIS Lite server - we have even had a full site running on an ATOM net pad - for a sales person to use at onside demonstrations.

Also since when is SQL 2005 no longer supported - surely it is still the minimum??

The correct answer to the question of Minimum - surely should be.

Any windows platform running IIS with ASP.NET 3.5 sp1 installed, and all current operating system Service Packs for that platform installed.
And any version of MS SQL Sever 2005 with all the current SQL server service packs installed - sp4 being the latest if I recall.
