First off, I want to apologize for my inexperience with DNN but I plan to get as much experience as possible. My company has an intranet page set up on one of our servers for our remote locations to access files, etc. DNN was set up by somebody before I started working here. There's no documentation or anything like that, but I've been maintaining the page for quite awhile now doing things like just creating links to PDF and excel files for the most party.

Well, we went to add the media module to one of our pages and upload a video. We click the upload button, select the video file, but when we hit next we get "Resource not found." So then we tried to put the video in the folder we wanted to and just create a link to it, but for some reason the video file will not show up in the file list in DNN even though it is physically in the correct folder on the server. Is there somewhere that we have to allow certain file extensions?

Our DNN is a couple versions behind, and I can find the IIS role on that server, but I really have no idea how to update it. If there are any simple answers to this I would be very grateful, or any links to any resources that might be helpful. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with all of the information out there.

Hi,

Try doing a file sync (Admin > File Manager, tick Recursive and click Synchronize Files), that should then show up the file so you can link to it.

As to the actual problem with uploading videos, I suggest you repost that particular issue in the Media Module sub forum where the developers lurk http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Forums/forumid/42/scope/threads.aspx
