Hi I'm Jovan, i have ask a few questions before but my hard disk crashed a few days ago and i have replaced it with a new one. However with a brand new hard disk, i have met with some problems again. I know this is not a dotnetnuke problem but i cant find any solutions online right now. So please give me some advice. Thank you.

My SQL server management studio(SSMS) is not  working properly and i cant log in to the database engine. Therefore i tried one of the previous methods and went into the SQL server configuration manager. However this time i could not see any things inside the SQL server service, the SQL server network configuration and the aliases inside the SQL native client 10.0 configuration. I am not sure of any software or programs that i needed to download before starting on my dotnetnuke project so i will need some advice. Thank you very much!

Jovan,

When you set up SQL Server, did you add yourself as an administrator? (Somewhere during the setup process, there is a button marked "Add current user" or similar).

If you activated SQL Server Authentication, did you provide a password for "sa"? Then you should be able to logon with this username and the given password (when you choose "SQL Server Authentication" from the dropdownlist on the login screen).

Best wishes
Michael
