Hello,

From many days am facing a strange problem with my dotnetnuke websites after login,  for example if i login to the website with (www.mywebsite.com)  and if i try to remove (www) and access website (mywebsite.com) the user will be not logged in since i was loged in from (www.mywebsite.com)  and same for viseversa. and i have to loged again from (mywebsite.com)

i think browser cache is not understanding that www.mywebsite.com and mywebsite.com are both same.

does any one know the issue.  waiting for reply.

Thanks

ghouse,

you can add the Http-Alias in the portal settings, but this would not be a great option. Better configure your webserver in a way that redirects http://mysite.com to http://www.mysite.com (or vice versa), this would also be better for SEO reasons.

Best wishes
Michael

Hello Michael,

Thanks for your reply, I try to add http alias in portal settings both (www.mywebsite.com and mywebsite.com), but unfortunately this one is not working, i will try to configure the webserver.

but i just want to know if this problem is from Dotnetnuke itself or am i only facing this problem.

Thanks

I have not heard of this before, but maybe there is a little misconfiguration somewhere.

Best wishes
Michael

You want both the www and non www alias set in the portal settings. Set your default alias to the www version. You can select Redirect as the SiteAlias mapping mode. I haven't tried this myself, as I usually use URL Master from ifinity.
