Hi Guys,

I'm a newbie to Dotnetnuke I really like what a I see so far. Anyway I come from a Joomla background, and was wondering how do I load a module in to a non-standard position? Perhaps inside a plain html module?

With Joomla this is a done with plugins and adding syntax to the html example: {plugin name}.

Lets say I have an article I'm posting and I want use the Will Strohls Lightbox in the middle article plus its also inside a table. How could I do this?

Thanks!!

what do you mean by 'non-standard" position? DotNetNuke skins consist of "panes" where content can be added, but you can have as many of these as you like and whereever you like by editing your skin. If you mean hosting one modules content within another module, that is not supported out of the box except by the iframe module. There are some commercial modules which allow for hosting of multiple modules within one e.g. http://www.dnnstuff.com/modules/aggre... or http://www.dnnstuff.com/modules/aggre... (im sure there are free ones, im just not aware of them at present)

Finally, if you're just looking to include some dynamic content then various modules support templating and the token replace engine e.g. http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W... . In addition 3rd party modules have taken this on much further with modules such as XMod allowing for mini-applications to be built up via tokens.

Joe,

for your example I would use Will Strohl's Content injection and a bit of jquery code.

Best wishes

'non-standard" position? Yes I mean panes in the skin.

I'm only familiar with coding html and css at this point so please bare with me.

I installed and know how to create a iframe but how do I get the iframe to show up inside a html module? Isn't the iframe a module itself?

Thanks!
