Hi All,

First off I have to say i am very new to DNN so if this is a silly question or I do not explain myself I am sorry.

I have been asked to look at an issue on our DNN site,  Recently (no-one can tell me when)  the "user management module" has stoped displaying the Edit, Delete and manage roles links at the start of each user record listed unless you are in the Edit page mode.

The user that does the authorisation of new users only has view access to a page that includes the user management module and they do not see any of the options to edit, delete or manage roles for the users.  When I log in as an admin I can only see the links if I change the page mode to Edit?

I thought it might be a permissions issue on the module being different to the page but no matter what I set the permissions to it does not seem to affect the visibility of the 3 links.  I have used both page inherited permissions and no inherited.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

since DNN 5.x, you need to be in edit mode for getting access to edit options. this is by design.

Thanks for the reply.

We are running version 6.0.1 so what you have said makes sense.
It seems that when they never noticed the drop down for page mode so it must have always defaulted to Edit mode and somehow started defaulting to View.

Is there a way to give a user the ability to authorise new users without having to give them edit rights to the user accounts module? Would be nice for them just to authorise but not have permission to delete. I assume this would be a different module?
