I have a web service I need to connect to my DNN databse and get the tabs information..Im using DNN dll and i cant still connect to the databse..and my ultimategoal is to delete tabs using DNn code..not using direct sql..

if you are on DNN 7, have a look into new WebAPI, which provides you with an easy option to provide a secure web service for your purpose. Have a look at the blog posts by Scott Schlesier on this site.

I'm using DNN 6.2 how was it..from my web service I need to run this type of code as a example: 

ontroller tabController = new TabController();
                TabInfo ff= tabController.GetTabByName("MyPage", 0);


but problem is how to connect to the DNN db for achive this..

you do not need to connect to DNN database, your webservice needs to be part of a DNN module and use DNN security and object model, e.g. you may access tabs collection from current context.

I think I make you confuse,its like this..I have a windows form application and it communicate to a web-service and it using the dotnetnuke dll only..the web service is not a DNN site its just referenced the DNN dll..I think you got my point..

So I have a separate DNN database (of a nother site) and need to get data to the windows form application via this web service..So I think the DNN database need to connect to the web-service via using this DNN dll..or something...

SO that the scenario I need to get done
