Greetings all,

I've heard of DNN but have never actualyl used it. I'm familiar with other CMS tools, but usually they are written in languages I'm not familiar with. DNN is written in C# / ASP.Net which means it should be MUCH more readable for me since I work as a .NET developer full-time. I'm looking to help a friend build an e-commerce site and thought DNN would be the way to go.

The community looks really solid, I'm really excited to get started, but when I say i'm new, I mean NEW. This is literally my first time ever even visiting the site! I know NOTHING of actually using DNN. lol. IF anyone has any tips for getting started on this, feel free to reply. =)

First of all... welcome to the community! DotNetNuke is a great CMS with an even better community of people around the world. I'm not sure where you are located, but there are user groups in several cities around the globe, community conferences, and corporate conferences that you can attend to get plugged in to what's going on with DNN. The next conference is happening in 9 days in Charlotte, NC ... see http://SouthernFriedDNN.com

Also, I should make you aware of some resources that are available here on the site. You've found the forums, but there is also a Community Exchange where people ask questions and a video library full of video tutorials of all aspects of DotNetNuke.

Regarding E-Commerce, you may want to check out @RobbBryn's blog at DotNetNukeFool.com.

Hope this is helpful!

Welcome to DNN!

The forums are pretty active and one of the reasons I chose DNN for my projects. Having a strong community behind the product really helps.

Ask if you have any questions.

Mark
