Today I had an occasion to view the data in my DNN Users table from SQL Server.  As I scrolled my list of users their UserIDs where increment by 1 as I would expect.  Than all of a sudden there was a jumped of 999 and then they continued incrementing by 1:

Ex:

UserID
=====
...
441
442
443
1042
1043
1044
1045
...

 Anyone every notice this in their DNN systems before.  Can you explain it?

Everything is working fine, it just looks odd and I am wondering if I should be concerned that someone is monkeying with my DNN database.

Thanks,
Rod

that's not something I've seen, though it is possible via sql e.g. DBCC CHECKIDENT (users, RESEED, 1042) -it may be completely innocent (e.g. someone accidentally reseeded the users table on your database when they meant a different database) - i'd recommend taking a quick look into the Eventlog table to see if there were registrations for users within the break, but its probably an accident and not something malicious

Problem is I am the only one with access to the database or DNN host account.....I didn't do anything like that....

its certainly odd, and the fact that the leap is 999 suggests something automatic rather than malicious, however I cant think of anything that would cause this (perhaps some sql server upgrade/patch caused it - but I've searched and can find no similar reports of sql reseeding issues I'm afraid
