Hi everybody.

I'm pretty new to DNN world and i have a question.

I'm developing a site that has a catalogue on it.

The navigation menu structure is something like:

Product Catalog

Product Line 1

Product Line 2

Product  Line 3

In the product Line page there is an XMOD Pro Template that use ?ProductLine=1 or ?ProductLine=2 or ?ProductLine=3 as parameter to show the products.

Actually clicking the menu item generate an  URL like  http://....../ProductLine1.aspx

is possible to have an url like ProductLine1.aspx?ProductLine=1 so i can reuse the same XMOD Template on every page?

Thanks.

Alessandro

I would pose this question to XMOD support.

Hi Leupold,

it's not an XMOD problem. The parameters passed by URL working properly

My problem is how to add a parameter on menu item on DNN 7

Thanks.

Alessandro..

You can specify WHAT a menu item links to.

When you add the page (or from Page Settings), in Advanced Settings, Other Settings, you can specify the Link URL.

Link type of None is the default behavior (no custom URL). Change yours to a URL and enter the address (including the ? parameters) you need.

Thanks, it works.

Another question, i need to enter the full URL. It's not possible to enter for example "/productCatalog.aspx?Line=1".

This question is because i'm developing on a test server that has an url like Http://192.168.xxx.yyy/DotnetNuke/ but when it goes live it has a totally different URL.

Thanks.

Alessandro.
