Hi there,

I created an dnn (version 7) website in IIS in port 3535 and I installed dnn. Then I created an empty solution. I added the website to project and then I run the project. It works fine in visual studio. But when i get Publish from website and create another website in IIS for published folder in port 3737 and browse localhost:3737 I Get following error in all browser:

HTTP 404 Not Found In Dotnetnuke

So in summary i have 2 site:

1- localhost:3535 works fine.

2- localhost:3737 not works

You need to create an alias for each individual port that is hosted in the same portal in dnn admin-> settings - and you need to edit the web.config and uncomment the UsePortNumber setting or ports wont work properly - especially with friendly urls and url rewriting.

But more importantly - WHY would you need to create a solution file or add the website to such a project - not sure what reason you would have for doing this - a dnn website for example should never be built or published - since its based around dynamically generated elements.

Thank you, it work's fine.

I added web site to solution for adding solution to TFS(Team Foundation Server), so i can keep track of changes to project. I want to publish because i does not want anyone else see my C# code, since i will obfuscate the dll.

FWIW - trying to publishing a DNN application will NOT work - there are any number of issues that this causes - especially with relation to resx files.

If what you are trying to do is build a compiled MODULE then again you dont need to publish - you compile the module and distribute it without source code.

Westa
