I am not new to designing, configuring or installing DNN websites... but I am new to converting a static website to DNN full Online eCommerce Store.

What do forum members recommend as the Easiest and Simplest plus affordable online DNN E-commerce "module" recommended to set up a DNN Store along with recommended hosting provider?

Feedback and recommendations welcome.

Kind Regards,

Hi Reginald,

You should definitely try out Revindex Storefront. It's affordable, easy, simple and powerful. Thousands of DNN sites trust Revindex Storefront to power their ecommerce store. It's got thousands of great features that you normally find in more expensive enterprise capable shopping cart like real-time shipping, multi-currency, custom rules, packing methods, coupons, promotions, Avalara tax certified, REST API, fulfillment, QuickBooks, vouchers, etc.  We even have a Generic skin that is optimized for Revindex Storefront. What's more, the next release due out in a few days will support marketplace multi-vendor (seller) feature that will help increase your sales, live currency update, and much more.

Test drive our free trial and check out the demos here and here and here.

Enjoy!

Thank you Stephen

Basically trying to make this as "ouchless" for me to implement as possible searching for the right module with the basic Traditional online store features or similar below:

  • Stores items as customers continue to shop.
  • Stores items for customers to return to for several days or longer.
  • Calculates amounts after each item is added, so that customers know how much they've spent.
  • Shows saved items while customer shops.
  • Cart can suggest related products, or show products that other customers bought with a particular item.
  • Ability to accept discounts and other promotional codes and apply them to final costs.
  • Social Networking Linking of Items in store.

Just curious what many in the forum have had success with.

Again, Kind Regards...

Hi Reginald,

Here are some suggestions for you......

There are some free (open source commerce modules)

1. Dnn Store Module ( click here for the module & info

This is very basic but should work fine for small commerce sites that just want to sell products etc. It hasn't been updated for a while but should still work.

2. NBStore Module ( click here for the module and info )

( Our choice ) This module we use all the time, for our clients it fits nearly every need. Basically all the above requirements are reachable with this module. It's template based so easy to change the look and feel, it has a strong community base for support and it is getting developed further. I strongly recommend you looking into and testing this module.

Paid Commerce modules..

I don't have much experience using any of the modules below but I thought I'd try to give you an idea of what is available in the market place as well as the above mentioned Revindex module...

1. HotCakes ( click here for info ) - This module seems to be thee paid module choice now a days for commerce in Dnn

2. Catalook ( click here for info ) - very powerful module but very messy

3. CartViper ( click here for info

4. Smithcart ( click here for info )

We have allot of experience using the NBStore module and find that it is a great module for our clients.  The problem with Hotcakes for us is its price tag, our clients just don't have the money for this which is a shame because I'd love to test drive HotCakes in the future and see about it's functionality and templating engine and maybe even create some skins for it.

Hope this helps you out,

Regards,

Geoff
