Hi Folks,

the standard search fom dnn only search for complete strings.

1.  The first thing you can do to search partical strings in dnn, is to change the GetSearchResults Store Proc in your DNN SQL-Server database.
In the Store Stroc you change the code as following:

2.1. Download the code from http://anastasiosyal.com/archive/2009...

2.2 Do the things describe in this article to register the functions to sql-server 2005 or higher

2.3. Change the Code to on of the includes string metrics functions for example in GetSearchResults:

(SELECT dbo.Jaro(sw.Word, @Word)) > 0.8

And that's it ... you have phonetic search in DNN ...
It works great for me!

Best regards Totti

AND (sw.Word = @Word)

to

AND (sw.Word like '%' + @Word + '%' )

2. The search is not phonetic and don't look for the string metric.
But you can do this with following tip to extend the search to a phonetic search in DNN.
