I noticed some odd things causing me grief with the Jquery injection into the HTML header.

Firstly - my Host Setting is set to use the Google hosted Jquery. I noticed that when I am logged in as Host it uses the shared local Jquery file instead and inserts it about half way up the HEAD tag.

Then, when I log out, it uses the hosted one as I would expect but it inserts it lower down.

This causes problems with some Jquery script\ references that I am inserting (with the DNNStuff InjectAnything module) into the Header as they appear ABOVE the JQuery reference when I am logged out (which means the page falls over with Jquery not found) and BELOW it when I am logged in as Host (which then works).

I raised the issue with DNNStuff
, but I was wondering if the local script thing for Host was by design, but mainly if the Jquery reference could be inserted to the TOP of the header instead?

Here is a very interesting article about shuffling the order of scripts (especially when using Jquery).

I am on DNN 5.2.2 - has this changed in a later version perhaps?

I just tested a DNN 5.4.2 site with both HOST and not logged in and they both used the hosted jquery file, and the placement of the file loading was in the same location no matter what my authentication was.

Thanks Chris, maybe it's been fixed since 5.2.2 (Gemini is down).

The more important problem is the order of the Jquery core reference - it needs to be higher up to make sure any other inserted ones are below it.

ps - I just tried on my test site (test.pokerdiy.com) which is on 5.4.2 and it's definitely doing it - Host Setting set to Hosted on Google - Logged out uses Google CDN correctly, logged in as Host is using local resource Jquery! This is not a problem - just thought I would mention it...
