I am trying to cache an object using DNN's caching provider, but any and all methods that have to do with adding an object to the cache is listed as depreciated. I am using DNN 5.6. What is the best way to utilize the DNN cache in terms of adding objects into it?

What namespace are you using, you should find all the methods you need in dotnetnuke.common.utilities.datacache (e.g. public static void SetCache(string CacheKey, object objObject))

I was able to find the methods that are not depreciated in the DataCache namespace, thanks.  Do you know what the purpose of the CacheDependency parameter is? Is that necessary to use when calling SetCache?

no, cache dependencies are optional and are used when you're not simply caching data for a time e.g. perhaps youre caching data from an xml file so you create a cachedependency to that file which means the cache stays active unless the file contents change.
