I have a page, that is not dnn page. I am using it to redirect clients to correct pages in some cases.
In this page I do Import DotNetNuke.Entities.Tabs and DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals

How can I get the PortalID using it's name, or it's URL? I am able to get Tab names, but couldn't find a way to get portalid

I found this:

PortalController.GetCurrentPortalSettings.PortalId

Is this the correct way to do it? I am asking because I am running on portalid=0, and I do not know if it returns 0 as a correct result, or as a default reasult.

yes, that is correct though typically i would use PortalSettings.Current.ActiveTab.PortalID as i usually am extracting values for usage in a module and i'm already checking the current page (ActiveTab) values

Thanx CC for your answer. I know that I could get the ID from within a module like that, however as I wrote before, I am in a simple page not a tab/module, that's why I wasn't sure about this method.

Anyway, problem solved.
