Hello,

I’ve got rather old site that was upgraded to 6.0 from 3.0 gradually. And one problem persists: if I set request time out to 1000+ seconds (in web.config) I will get 100% CPU load in 1-3 hours. I have tried to find page or script that can cause it but failed.

Site has 20k page views a day and no it is only site  at 8 core server with 24Gb memory so it is quite powerful for such small site

Thank you in advance..

Please advise how to find the faulty part or a specialist who can help

the 1st (easiest) thing to do is to configure IIS for failed request tracing and set the time taken option - http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/266/troubleshooting-failed-requests-using-tracing-in-iis-7/ -this may highlight pages/functions that consume lots of time/resources. Secondly Id recommend checking whether the CPU issue is a website or database problem - and if it's a database item try profiling the database to see what's causing the problem (you may want to check for deadlocks - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/SQL-Server-deadlocks.aspx ). Finally, if it's a webserver issue you'll probably have to grab a memory dump of the w3wp.exe problem and inspect it in windbg (with a managed extension such as sos/sosex/psscor2/psscor4) to isolate what's causing the issue
