HI, we currently have an upgraded DNN 6.1.0 site that only started at 6.0.0 in August so it's pretty new and fresh. Since the last upgrade to 6.1.0, we have been experiencing random log offs on the site. In other words, you log in and you're on a given page (any page really) and then you click a tab to navigate to another high level page on the site (or an Admin/Host page) and all of a sudden you are at the login page and you are logged out without actually clicking the log out function. It doesn't happen consistently. It's often the first time I log in for a user profile and then it may not do this for a while. However, it does it often. We are building a new site so for us it's reoccuring all the time. When testing for a standard user who has just registered for the site, it happens as well. Not a good thing for usability for our customers.

Is this a bug? Is this something only happening to our site? Any response would be appreciated. We have also had a developer implementing DataSprings Dynamic Registration module. Don't know if this could be the culprit either.

Some places you can look for error messages or log on/log off messages.
IIS - tweak the IIS logging to capture log on/off messages
In root of your web site open up DotNetNuke.log4net.config and change the "Level Value" to "Info" from "WARN"
This will give you a blow by blow list of what's really going on.

We've not had anyone else ever report this specific behavior in 6.x code that I am aware of.

Was this an issue before the Data Springs implementation or during/after?

This was not happening before 6.1.0 and Dynamic Registration was already installed on the site and in use before that upgrade.

Just to clarify, the <root><level value="ERROR" /> is what file currently has entered. So you mean to change ERROR to INFO?  Do I just see the log results in the Event Viewer? Thanks, Kris

On the flipside, I don't know if this is connected, but there are also some instances when the site doesn't respond to clicking the Logout link. We can be logged in as any type of user, click the Logout link and nothing happens. We can actually try to click this multiple times with no response and only after completing closing down all instances of an open browser app (in this case for sure IE8), will it reopen the site and the user is no longer logged in.
