hi

i checked dotnetnuke.com with w3 validator and it founds many markup errors (check the resault here)

in most dnn sites it finds many errors; are these errors considerable? i mean is it necessary to fix them?

regards

i validate "Dotnetnuke.com" with w3 validator tool. you can check the resault (103 Errors) here:http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=htt...

for a fresh dnn 6.2.2 installation it returns many errors too. why?

It is not necessary to make a site valid while it works fine. But it better to, if you have time for this. As for latest DNN versions it is not very hard to make a site to be valid. All of the changes are in Default.aspx (and, of course, if you made your own skinning/markup mistakes).

I`m not sure if it was available in 6.2.2, but first of all you should specify your markup as HTML5. It should be in Host settings menu. If there is no HTML5 doctype, you may change it manually, just find a DOCTYPE file of your skin and change it to <! DOCTYPE html>

After that, there would be just ~ 9 errors, which you also may erase as I said before. As for me, I am making only valid HTML5 sites.
