Hi there

I have some DNN pages with a significant number of DNN html modules mostly containing text that take a long time to refresh when editing

I get a pop--up error

Warning: Unresponsive script

A Script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding,  You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

This is in FireFox, Chrome gives a different message

This pop-up will come up about six times before the page is available for editing

There are over 50 html modules on the page plus a DNN Article Tag Cloud so there are good reasons for the page to take a while to load

My question is whether there is some form of cache or other setting that I can change to provide more buffering on the server and / or the client

 I have a number of pages with significant amounts of content which also do this, the pop-up does not display as many times but it still appears

I would really value any guidance anyone can give me

The site is www.ETI-Ministries.org and the home page is the page with the greatest amount of content and therefore the biggest problem

every module adds a bunch of overhead to a page - if possible try to reduce the number of modules used - e.g. you don't need to create a module for each paragraph of text. If pages are very long with many modules listed beneath each other, you may consider splitting up to multiple pages - users don't like to scroll that much.
Another solution just to improve editing experience would be installing a different text editor, e.g. http://dnnckeditor.codeplex.com - unzip the download and install appropriate package for your DNN version like any other DNN extension.

FYI we have an open issue for a similar page layout (https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/brow... ) - the suggestion at http://www.dnnsoftware.com/forums/for... might be worth implementing until such times as we can test and apply that fix to a future platform release.

I have strong reasons for wanting all that content on one page :)

I am convinced that people who are dipping into a content rich website are more likely to scroll than to click -- cannot prove it but I once read that the average person is ten times more likely to scroll than to click and I certainly behave that way when I am browsing a website -- if i click it is usually to leave the site :)

 Regarding the editor -- my impression is that it is the refresh of the page that is taking the time -- I get the problem even when I am in edit mode on the page and NOT actually using the editor, for example if I add or move a module

Hence my question as to whether there is some form of  caching or buffering on the server and client that can be provided?

It is good to know that this is receiving attention

Regretfully I have zero technical knowledge to try and apply the fix that is suggested

Also, I am running absolutely standard DNN with a few add-in's that have NO impact on the page I am referring to
