A few DotNetNuke versions ago, DNN Keep-A-Live was used regularly. At one time it was a Module that you would install to help with DNN Performance.

As a long time user with DNN, I've recently been tasked with installing and activating DNN Keep-a-live for DNN version 6.2.9 or possibly  upgrade to DNN 7.3.2 and use Keepalive there.
My Question,
Is DNN Keep-Live used anymore for versions 6.X or 7.X  or is there a module installed?

I have even read that you can ping your site via www.yourdomain.com/keepalive.aspx 
Is this how Keep Alive is used for DNN now?
How would I implement keepalive daily without having to always hit /keepalive.aspx ? and what are the best practices for DNN Keep Alive?

Please advise.

Keep alive is necessary for sites on shared hosting/shared servers, which are configured to unload a website, after 20 minutes of no activity (IIS default).
On your own server, it is advisable to recycle on specific times of the day and/or resource utilization as well as using a monitoring service to check the site every couple of minutes and notify the admin(s).

Based on your comment I created a Windows Service that I installed on my Server which basically calls my webpage once every three minutes; that way my page is always alive and loads super fast!

Let me know if anybody (with a Windows Server) is interested on the Windows Service I created and I can post a download link along with instructions on how to configure it...
