Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content

I noticed an article from 2 years ago about this but it did not have much information other than DNN 7.3.0 would improve upon this. Has there been any advances made or anything I missed. It is really affecting our page loading and user experience on a lot of our sites.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Four months and no reply to this critical DNN issue. The issue was brought to the attention by many well over 3 years ago. It’s an issue that is holding back the DNN platform.

Designers and agencies are shifting away from DNN as their clients complain of sub standard page load times on mobile and tablet devices compared with other platforms.

We are in an era where mobile is first. It seems DNN is still stuck in a time warp. Isn’t it time it caught up and this issue was made a priority.

It’s interesting how Umbraco is able to output only 1 js and 1 css file for the entire website or even no files if required. “DotNetNuke outputs its own js and css files by default, with Umbraco the output is up to the developers so you can have much leaner web pages”.

You can use the Client Resources Management feature to do minification and combination of js and CSS files.

The render blocking issue seems to be quite a more difficult issue. I'd love to hear some discussion of this, too.

Thanks. The Client Resources Management is a great feature but DNN doesn’t address the main issue of render blocking despite many other platforms doing so.

Any updates on this. Our site is scoring at a "poor" level on Google's PageSpeed Test. Image optimization is an issue we can fix, but not sure how to correct the render-blocking JS and CSS above-the-fold isssue
