Hi All.

Beside the fact that the Update-Profile Function should not show any folder for the users photo (just put it in "My Folder" by default), i found another strange behaviour in the mechanism under 5.4.1

Is it normal to have a little strange folder structure for the photos of the users?
Under the root there is a folder USERS and here are for each user one extra folder. So far so good.
E.g. my ADMIN has as its folder 002, in 002 is a folder 02 and in 02 is a folder 2. And here is the picture.
This schema is for every user in my portal.

Regarding strange behaviour with photos
Assume following:
- a user updates his profile and uploads a photo for the first time (in the correct folder of course ;-) )
- a week later he comes back and chooses None Specified for the photo due to ..... what ever -> photo won't be shown at all, so correct
- an additional week later he changed his mind and wants to switch back, here is what he is going to do, at least what he thinks he should do:
    - go to update profile
    - choose My Folder
    - under FILE choose the still available picture file
    - wait one second until the web has updated the page and....
    - nor the picture appears neither the filename is in the field FILE selected
You can do this until your mouse-finger is bleeding, the still existing file won't be accepted you have to upload it again.
I tested with a normal user account and admin. Both the same.

Cheers

Kai

Those 'wierd' folder names have to be done that way. There are a number of reasons but it is not straight UserID all the time. The primary reason this is done is to limit the number of folders at a level. Consider a site like this, over 750k users. We can't have 750k folders in a level, it won't work.

Thanks, that makes sense to me.

I just wanted to know why it is, like it is.

However, the other mentioned points are as they are, too ;-)
