Hi, I am having an issue on 5.4.2 where after installing a new module as HOST successfully my portal (Community Edition) hangs for around 10-15 min.  Eventually they come back online.  Sometimes I need to modify the web config and re-save to give it a boot. Does anyone else experience this?

[HttpException (0x80004005): Request timed out.]

most likely there is a performance issue with your database. make sure, transaction log gets truncated frequently and tables eventlog and schedulehistory don't have more than a few hundred rows.

Thanks for that.  Have cleaned up the two tables mentioned.  Not sure how to check my transaction log.  When viewing in Sql Server Mgmt Studio, it seems to appear like one does not exist. 

Any good links you can recommend for viewing/checking ones transaction log?

in SSMS, select your database root and enter properties. Check the file sizes. Transaction log is used for Recovery model "full" only.
