Following Mitchel's blog  http://www.mitchelsellers.com/blogs/a..., I used VS 2010 and compiled targeted both 3.5 and 4.0 version in dnn 5.4.02. After compiling, it was successfully uploaded. Only when I clicked return at the bottom, I got the errors:An error has occurred.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.GetSkin(PageBase Page) at DotNetNuke.Framework.DefaultPage.Page_Init(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Page.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---
For both .net 3.0 and 4.0 versions.  Did I do wrong somewhere?

Thanks

Hy

It does not matter what version of vs or what version of DNN.  When you get this type of error, it means your coding practice needs to be improved.  You need to trap your own errors.

Sprinkle lots of try/catch in your code and display meaningful error messages instead of letting .net doing it for you.

I coded nothing. I just tested it. One empty ascx page withouth anything inside. That's it.

Thanks

Figure out: instead of clearing root namespace from instruction when I created the module generated by the dnn, I filled with DotNetNuke.Modules. It works!
