Does anyone have a recommendation for 3rd Party modules or an implementation of the core Map module that would allow one to use 'overlay' images/maps? Example: Hiking Trails, real estate plats, camp grounds, etc.? Bing or Google is preferred for interactivity, naturally.

Hi Wells
I often use mash up code from http://www.mapchannels.com/
It is free although they have recently started asking for a one $10 fee to not show goggle ads on maps.
It all joins up with Google maps very nicely.

IMHO experience the best map module at the moment is Netism Extreme maps. I am not sure if they support overlays but their support is very responsive.

Netism does look interesting. I'm a bit curious about their license terminology... I'm assuming I'd be looking at the "enterprise" license as we host many independent installs of DNN instead of a master install with Portals setup for the individual domains.  It confuses me as "Host License" usually refers to multiple installs under the same IP / license owner. Still, promising looking package. I just have to make sure I can pitch it on enough sites to make back the initial purchase, most of my sites are fine with a single point with directions. I only have a couple that require extensive mapping functionality.
