Hello,
I'm running the latest version of DNN locally on my laptop, in the folder c:\inetpub\wwwroot\dotnetnuke. This is a test site that I've set up to learn DNN. I'm using a SQL2008 Express db, and when I ran the install wizard I chose the 'auto' option. So I have a database in my app_data folder named  database.mdf.

I just went through the tutorial located at:  http://www.adefwebserver.com/dotnetnu...  and created a linq-to-sql module. I compiled my project and visited http://localhost/dotnetnuke, and the install wizard appeared.

Does anyone know why the install wizard appeared instead of my site? My site seems to have been working well up to this point.

thanks!

Did you modify the web.config at all?

No, I didn't modify web.config.( In the tutorial I used it said to add <add directoryName="HelloWorld" /> but I didnt' need to since I'm using vb.net.) . I wonder if it has to do with this chain of events:  when I first downloaded the code and brought up the install wizard, I did not use visual studio at all. Today I wanted to learn how to create a module so I went through the above-mentioned tutorial for which I used vstudio2008 express. So the next time I tried to run my site I was doing it from within vstudio. Not sure if that has anything to do with it at all.

Another thing I've recently noticed is that when I open my vstudio project, the title of the project is 'DotNetNuke (2)'. To my knowledge I have only created one DotNetNuke project.

By the way Chris, I really like your webinars (so far I've watched the Install,Administration, and Modules). You take it nice and slow and it' very easy to follow - thanks!
