I at one point had an older version of the Forum module on my site (DNN version 5.4.2), and decided to upgrade to the latest 5.0 version of the Forums module.

I had received an error during the install, but did not copy the details. After several attempts to install (even after uninstalling), I've had to manually delete all the Forum tables and Stored Procedures multiple times, I keep getting the following error when installing the Forum module as an extension:

SQL Execution resulted in following Exceptions: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <= , >, >= or when the subquery is used as an expression. at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteNonQueryTds(String methodName, Boolean async) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.InternalExecuteNonQuery(DbAsyncResult result, String methodName, Boolean sendToPipe) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteADOScript(String SQL) at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteScript(String Script, Boolean UseTransactions) DECLARE @default_constraint_name SYSNAME, @sql NVARCHAR(3750) IF EXISTS ( SELECT name FROM dbo.sysobjects WHERE parent_obj = OBJECT_ID(N'dbo.dnn_Forum_EmailQueue_TaskEmails') AND type = 'D' AND id = ( SELECT cdefault FROM syscolumns WHERE name = N'DateAdded' ) ) BEGIN SELECT @default_constraint_name = name FROM dbo.sysobjects WHERE parent_obj = OBJECT_ID(N'dbo.dnn_Forum_EmailQueue_TaskEmails') AND type = 'D' AND id = ( SELECT cdefault FROM syscolumns WHERE name = N'DateAdded' ) SET @sql = N'ALTER TABLE dbo.dnn_Forum_EmailQueue_TaskEmails DROP Constraint ' + @default_constraint_name EXEC sp_executesql @sql END System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Column already has a DEFAULT bound to it. Could not create constraint. The problem seems to be with the following SQL script:
SELECT name FROM dbo.sysobjects WHERE parent_obj =
OBJECT_ID(N'dbo.dnn_Forum_EmailQueue_TaskEmails') AND
type = 'D' AND id = ( SELECT cdefault FROM syscolumns WHERE name = N'DateAdded' )

The last part (SELECT cdefault FROM syscolumns WHERE name = N'DateAdded') is the part returning multiple results. There are 3 values returned, all equal to zero (0).

It seems like there are multiple columns (3) with the name 'DateAdded', and this script doesn't seem to account for this possibility.

Any ideas how I might be able to finally get past this? I've tried for weeks, off and on, of course.

Thanks,
Joel

Hi!

Could you try opening the table Forum_EmailQueue_TaskEmails and set the default value of DateAdded to getdate() ?
I checked my DB and thats what the default for this column is.

To find the other DateAdded columns you could run this sql query:

SELECT
    SysObjects.[Name] as TableName,
    SysColumns.[Name] as ColumnName,
    SysColumns.[Length] As Length,
syscomments.*
    FROM
    SysObjects INNER JOIN SysColumns
    ON SysObjects.[Id] = SysColumns.[Id]
LEFT OUTER JOIN  SysComments on SysComments.id = SysColumns.cdefault
where     SysColumns.[Name] = 'DateAdded'
    ORDER BY     SysObjects.[Name]
