I have 3 modules that have strange span tags inserted in them whenever I wrap the entire module in a div tag using the header and footer insertion points in module settings.  One of them is the form and list module.  This strange span wreaks havoc in IE, effectively doubling my backgrounds.  I have even gone so far as to write some jquery to remove it, but alas, for some reason that is only working in other browsers :-(  What I really want is to get rid of this.

So this is what the markup looks like:

<!-- Start_Module_408 --><span class="Normal"><div class="medallions"></span>

The div with class medallions comes from the header section in module settings.  I have no idea where the span comes from.  Notice it only encapsulates the opening of the div.  Firefox, safari and chrome ignore it safely, but IE8 doubles the background of the div.  Why is this span being inserted?  How do I get rid of it?

You can see an example on this page: http://imcwbeta.org/Talks/TalkDetail/tabid/69/TalkID/120/Default.aspx

Thanks!
