Is the remainder of the .dnn manifest  and also the contents of the zip package (with the addition of the new file) the same as that in the original module install package?

Are you changing the version number in the manifest?

Hi, Thanks for the reply, NO, I am trying to add a new file in the existing module , so i tryed keeping same version number and didn't include any of the original files and remainder of the .dnn file, so do i need to reinstall the complete module with new file added to original zip and update the original .dnn file with the new file entry?

That's correct as the extensions installer will need to know which type of extension is being installed along with the other module related information. If this is just a one-time file replacement that does not involve registering a new module control or modifying a module control's registration, I'd simply FTP or copy the file into the appropriate site folder rather than trying to repackage the module.

Thanks william for the reply, i don't have access to the box, so i can't ftp or copy directly, so my only option now is to reinstall the module right?
