I'm trying to export the content of a module I wrote from one server to another. The functionality works but the odd thing is I can only import names of files that I have exported. For example
on the dev box, I export to the name ModuleContent in the "root"
I copy the  file that was created, content.modulename.ModuleContent.xml, from the dev box from  the root of dev to the root on  the QA box
I log into the QA box and select import
I choose "root" from the dropdown on the QA box but the file box is empty.

If I export from the QA box with the name "ModuleContent", that name is listed but I really don't want to have to export a dummy file just to be able to import the data. I'm not sure what step I'm missing.

Hopefully this isn't too confusing. Thanks

You might need to go to the Admin/File Manager and make sure that the synchronization process has run, you can run it manually from there.

If you can't see the content in the File Manager than it likely hasn't run.

Also, be sure you are trying to import/export from the same type of module. For example, you can't export from the HTML module and import into a Media module. Just HTML to HTML and Media to Media, etc.
