Yep, ventrian is the best news articles module out there hands down. Great community, great support, and a very well coded module.

As for a blog I am partial to the SunBlogNuke, it's like $100 bucks. If you just want articles and good customization I would do ventrian news articles, I think it's $25 dollars for their entire module package.

Again, thanks for the information.

When I say Blog or NewsArticle, I'm aiming to allow members who feel the urge to ink up a story to have the ability to simply submit it to the front page. If the yare in a group, or have the role, it'll be published to the front page right away, if not, then it waits for the admin to approve it.

I'm not sure if I'm making sense.

Kevin, Active Social (www.activemodules.com) was just acquired by DNN and will be in core DNN soon (DNN version 6.0 IIRC). That would allow your users to post links, belong to groups, etc. It's expensive now...but when it goes core...free.....

I was not aware of that, is there anywhere  I can read documentation on what all will be changing? I'm assuming ActiveForums will become core DNN as well?
