I am running version 05.06.03 (45) of DNN.

I recently upgraded my site to the v6.0.0 of the links module. Now, when I log in as the portal admin and click on the "Add Link" icon, a empty page displays with the message "An Error has occurred. Error is currently unavailable"

Even if I add a new instance of the links module to the page, I get the same error when I try to add a link. I also get the error if I try to edit an existing link.

Any idas?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

An additional note; I have Visual Studio 2005 installed on the DNN server if that makes any difference.

In an attempt to resolve the issue, I performed the following;

1. Backed up the DNN database
2. Logged in as Host and removed the Links v6.00.00 from the module definitions. I checked the box to delete files.
3. I installed the latest Links module v6.00.01 from dnnlinks.codeplex.com as one the the fixes referred to the Net.WebException issue
4. I restored the database

Now, when I log in and click on Add a new Link or Edit a Link, I get the following message;

Error: is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: C:\Websites\LSSCSupport\DesktopModules\Links\EditLinks.ascx.vb(374): error BC30002: Type 'Net.WebException' is not defined. ---> System.Web.HttpCompileException: C:\Websites\LSSCSupport\DesktopModules\Links\EditLinks.ascx.vb(374): error BC30002: Type 'Net.WebException' is not defined. at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CompileWebFile(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.ControlUtilities.LoadControl[T](TemplateControl containerControl, String ControlSrc) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleHost.LoadModuleControl() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---
