I used to use pjIRC chat for my old php website and I was wondering if we had anything similar working with dotnetnuke?

Only registered members would see the link to click for the chat module and once they click it, they'll automatically enter the chatroom using their registered name. If the name is already registered, a "random" number is appended to their username.

I initially tried 'Chat Module' for DotNetNuke, but it doesn't work well.
- when you first join, sometimes it doesn't take your message an submit it, although it disappears as if it was submitted
- it grabs Member A previous messages and strings them together as one ... an repeats this.

I just tried 'DotNetNuke Chat for 123 Flash Chat' but it's really slow.

Could this be converted into a DotNetNuke module?

the first is a library not an application but could be used as the basis of a new module yes, the 2nd is a full application but is a windows form (or GTK on mono) so you'd have to extract the irc parsing parts out to use them in a web context - i'd recommend starting with the first one.
