I have a DotNetNuke installation on a web host that won't allow the use of the html editor. There does not seem to be a way to repair the intallation so I installed the same version of DNN on my development machine. I then made a template of the parent portal and used it to create the same portal, 0, on my machine. That went well and I was able to resurect the site after fixing a few file path issues.

The long term goal here is to get the whole site with all portals running on my machine and then replace the hosted site with the new files and database.

I then tried to create another portal on my machines installation by creating a template of the portal on the site I want to repair. This would be portal 2 on my development machine. When I try and create the site from the template I get an error: "Error parsing Portal TemplateViolation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'IX_ModulePermission'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.ModulePermission'. The statement has been terminated. at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection. (SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.....".

Both sites are DNN 5.6.3 with .NET 3.5.

Any thoughts on using the template would be greatly appreciated. I'd hate the have to recreate all the pages manually.

I am adding information just to be clear on what I am trying to do. I have one Dotnetnuke installation on a hosting service that has 3 portals. I am attempting to clone this installation on my computer in a clean DotNetNuke 5.6.3 installation using templates generated from the hosted site. The first portal, was the default DNN portal and that went well on adding the pages and content from the template. I am having trouble adding the second portal using a template from the hosted site.

Is there a problem with using templates to create  the portals on a DNN installation?
