DNN 05.06.02

I have an >Admin > Site Wizard (SW) problem on a production server.  The problem does not exist on my localhost development machine. The entire website functions well with the only exception being step 3 of the SW.

I am wondering if anyone might be able to provide shed some light as to a fix.

When I get to step 3 of the SW some, but not all of the 700 skin thumbnails load. It usually takes 4 or 5 attempts before all thumbnails load (i.e. loading more into the browser cache with each attempt). With <not all of the thumbnails loaded> page state; if I refresh the page or attempt to navigate away from the SW-Step-3 page I get the following errors:

===-===
IE: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Chrome: The connection to www.mysite.com was interrupted
Safari: Winsock error 10054 is Connection reset by peer, or forcibly closed by the remote host.
Firefox: The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading
Opera: Connection closed by remote server
===-===

With this in mind, I am locked-out of entire website access for about 45-60 seconds with the above error messages.

My very helpful host has tried several server configs in my dedicated app pool with no success.

Any ideas as to a possible solution would be welcomed.

Thank you.

it would appear to be that the code cannot handle 700 images in the asp.net timeout period (typically 90 seconds) - you could try increasing it but really the issue is the 700 thumbnails (most sites have only a handful of skins so this is an edge case we've not seen before) - you can log this as an issue at support.dotnetnuke.com but due to it's rare nature I'm not sure when we may look at it (there are other higher priority issues that affect larger numbers of people)

As Cathal stated, this is a rare case and I would backup my skins into an external directory then Skins directory and would keep only a few useful ones for selection from wizard. So wizard could pass the timeout issue and complete succesfully.

For the enhancement, Team can consider using Paging for thumbnail selections and thumbnails will load on request.
