Hello all

I wonder if anybody can provide a definitive update on the status of support in DNN 6.1.4 for the Ajax Control Toolkit? I have a module that is using  v3.5.40412.x of the ACT DLL - specifically, the module includes an AnimationExtender control.

However, the animation extender does not seem to be working at all, it does not respond to mouse or click events as it supposed to. I can't see anything wrong with the control's configuration, but similarly there are no DNN error events generated in the Event Viewer. I need to know if it is possible to use this DLL in the current version of DNN, and if so, whether there are any specific requirements, re: .NET framework versioning etc., that might have implications for the operation of ACT controls.

I know that there has been a certain amount of confusion in previous versions of DNN, regarding modification of the DNN source code to support ACT, by customizing the script manager control that a module would use, but it seems to me that many of those issues appear to be less relevant to some extent in more recent versions of DNN, through the adoption of the Telerik RadScriptManager. After all, I myself am not now getting any errors complaining about conflicting script managers, etc., which were typical of the ACT problems in the earlier versions of DNN.

However, all the relevant customization information on the forums I can find seems to refer to older versions of DNN, and is inconclusive about whether or not I should expect the ACT to be supported or not anymore. Am I just wasting my time trying to investigate this? It seems to me that the RadScriptManager would need to emulate the original ACT ToolkitScriptManager, but I can't work out if the RadScriptManager should be expected to be this flexible?

Can anybody cast any light on this problem?

Regards
