Not sure what you're asking here? Ideally, you should always test a major upgrade in a copy of your production website so you can test the upgrade and all of your modules before upgrading your live website.

Even then, a complete backup of both the application and the database before upgrading will ensure you can roll back if anything goes wrong with your upgrade.

If this is beyond your comfort level there are tools on the store to help automate a lot of this process and plenty of people out there who can assist you for a fee.

If you are using just the standard dnn modules then you should not have any major issues.

There is a process of steps however that you should follow as part of the upgrade process.

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...

As you are back on 5.2, then you should first upgrade to 5.4.4 then 5.5.1 then 5.6.4 then 6.0.1 then 6.1.5 before the upgrade to 6.2.

NOTE when you upgrade to each new VERSION you should then also make sure you upgrade any out of date modules - modules will not always be automatically updated with each build - you need to manually make sure they are updated - and test test test.

The same goes for any custom or 3rd party modules - check with the developers to see if there are any new versions - especially before the jump to 6.x.
