Hi,

Does anyone know the process to control what editing options are allowed within an instance of the Telerik RadEditor? I have the DNN Forum module running on a clients website and I would like to restrict what editing options are available. For example, the dotnetnuke.com forum only allows: Bold, Italic, Underline, Indent, outdent, list, spelling, paste, undo, redo, images, link, break link.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Jim

After some research, I have discovered that you can edit what options the RadEditor "ribbon control bar" offers. But, it appears that you can only have one set of options for your entire DNN installation (all portals), not just an instance of RadEditor (like you can with fckEditor).

The RadEditor configuration file (on DNN 6.1):
.../DesktopModules/Admin/RadEditorProvider/ToolsFile/toolsfile.xml

Anyone know a way to have more than one configuration for a DNN installation?

Thanks.

Jim

using HTML Editor Configuration Manager in Host settings you may create sets of settings for website or individual roles.

Hi Sebastian,

I found the "HTML Editor Manager" and the "Configuration Manager"under Host. I'm sure you haven't got the time to go into a long discussion as to how to accomplish this, but if you can point me to a discussion or documentation on how to use this feature of DNN.

But, what I see on the clients host account options are:

Within the Configuration manager there is:

Configuration File (dropdown list):
   Compression.config
   DotNetNuke.config
   DotNetNuke.log4net.config
   SiteAnalytics.config
   SiteUrls.config
   web.config

and: Configuration Merge Scripts (with "Browse" button)

And within the HTML Editor Manager there is:

Current provider
DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider (the only item)
(with a "Change" button

Along with:
[-] Default Configuration
- Everyone

Thanks!

Hi Jim, if you go to the HTML Manager, you will see a Copy option at the bottom of each configuration (Default, Everyone). You can use that to copy the configuration and bind it to a Role, the current Portal and even a tab and then amend it as required. Hope that helps!
