I've setup some various pages with the Members Directory module installed on them.  I've configured each to filter by group and then modified the security roles to be both a Social Group and a Security Role so that they'll show up on the dropdown list.

This works perfectly when I'm logged in as Host, but when logged in as an account configured to be Admin....it displays no members.  What is going on?  If I add my account to one of those roles, it will work correctly.  But once I remove myself from that role, it goes back to displaying nothing.

The roles were all created using the Security Roles module and not the Social Groups module.

Any idea why this is happening?

It sounds like you have the groups setup to show only members if you are a member of a group, and as a HOST you are by default always part of any security role (group), while an Admin isn't.

That would be my best assumption as to what is happening.

Thanks for the reply.  How would I change the setup for a group so that all could see its members?  I did observe that if I add myself to that group that I could see it's members.

The group is not setup to be a public group.  That is, I don't want anyone to be able join it, but have to be assigned to that group by someone with admin rights instead.  These roles are set to be both a social group and a security role.  They're being used for officer ranks in a gaming clan.  I can't exactly have people promoting themselves.  But I'd like to publish some directories by rank so that other members can see/contact those people who are of that rank.

I understand that this feature is fairly new to DNN.  I think it's pretty cool, but it doesn't seem to be fully matured in its implementation.  For example, I added a unfiltered Member Directory to the root page of my directory pages.  It displays the correct number of members according to the paging settings, but the "Load More" button only works once and then disappears and only if I set the page size to a smaller number like 10.  On a page where I've added the Social Groups module, the "Join" button will only result in "Membership Pending" when clicked.

I don't mean to complain, I think you guys have made some awesome improvements.  And I could be doing things wrong, so please tell me how I can fix these things.  Thanks again.

I am having the same issue.

My two groups were setup as both security role and social group. The host is able to see members in both groups, but when I login as a user in group one, I cannot see any members in group two. Also, when I login as a user in group two I cannot see any memebers in group one.

Goal: Separate the members by their security role, but allow any user to view the members for each group.
