Hello,I just started using DNN and i would like to know if someone could help me with the following problem:

In the website I'm developing, I want to give some type of users ( suppliers) a certain type of security roll when they register; while not abandoning the DNN source register ( for regular users).

My question is whether i should change the source code of the DNN registration or if I should create a custom registry module to meet my specific needs? And if I were to change the source code, where should I alter and what special attention should I have while altering?

Thanks and regards,

Bruno Parra.

I would recommend you look at a third party module like Dynamic Registration from DataSprings, search http://store.dotnetnuke.com and you'll find it.

That will likely do what you need to do, without making any CORE changes.

Thank you Chris for your response.

Unfortunately I'm working on a college project so I don't have that kind of budget.

I've been trying to change de source code and so far I've managed to add the field I wanted by changing the code behind in "..\website\DesktopModules\Admin\Security\Register.ascx.cs" in the protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e) method by adding the following line:

 protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e)
        {
            ...
AddField("myFieldExample", String.Empty, true, String.Empty, TextBoxMode.SingleLine);
..
}

The problem is that when I add the field it dosen't create a label, leaving it blank spot on the left where the name should be. This only happens with the field I created. I've tried with other existing source fields and it creates, but when I use my own it dosen't.

The field exists on the database and i can't find a way to add the label. A

Any help?

Thanks and Regards,

Bruno Parra.
