I've developed a module to showcase case studies on my company's web site. It uses Fancybox with inline content to show details when a user clicks on a case study tile. Whether I attempt to register the FancyBox js file through a DnnJsInclude control or via the Page_Load event using ClientResourceManager.RegisterScript(), the script fails to load 9 times out of 10. I think this is a caching issue, but even if I uninstall the module, set the module's default cache time to 0 and disable host caching, the script still fails to load the majority of the time. Right now, I've been testing locally with CRM disabled, but our staging site has it enabled, and the problem persists in both cases.

To eliminate caching as the source of the problem, I tried the following:

  1. Disable client caching (Chrome Developer Tools -> Disable Cache)
  2. Set module default cache time to 0, uninstall and reinstall
  3. Set host setting to None and Private
  4. Add <%=DateTime. Now%> to module output
  5. Delete the App_Data/ClientDependency and Portals/0/Cache directories

Even with all that, the timestamp on the module page seems cached and the script fails to load.  I should note that this problem disappears entirely when logged in as a super user in "Edit" mode. When I switch to view mode or visit the site anonymously, the problem reappears.

Please help!
