Hi,

I know, this should be posted in the YAF.NET Forums, but there does not seem to be any response on this question (maybe they don´t even care) and I thought I ask here maybe someone found a solution.

When I try to install/configure the YAF Forum Module, the following error is thrown:

The 'System.Web.Security.SqlRoleProvider' requires a database schema compatible with schema version '1'. However, the current database schema is not compatible with this version. You may need to either install a compatible schema with aspnet_regsql.exe (available in the framework installation directory), or upgrade the provider to a newer version.

I would be really happy if there is a solution out there. (or some can explain me why it´s not working at all)

Regards,

René

Of cource they care. Not nice to bash YAF here.

YAF and Yaf for DNN an excellent and very well supported module and totally free.

The developper that converted it to DNN is very-very responsive. Maybe you didn't ask properly.

Not sure YAF for DNN works With DNN 7.

I'm not sure what is up with the YAF forums, but I could not actually get to them when researching this same issue.

To confirm for anyone having this issue, YAF 1.95 and 1.96 work with DNN 7 - I have instances of both with DNN 7.0.0.0 & YAF 1.95 at www.electricalknowledge.com and DNN 7.0.0.4 with YAF 1.96.1-5117 at www.hydrolific.com

I ran into this exact issue on my latest install using DNN 7.0.0.4 and YAF_DNN 1.96.1-5117 for hydrolific.com

The steps I took were: (try #3 first)

1. Run AspNet_RegSQL.exe out Framework64/4.0 (not sure if needed/helped)

2. Run AspNet_RegSQL.exe out of Framework/2.0 (not sure if needed/helped)

After about 20 minutes of searching, I found an unrelated application that had the same problem, and the suggestion was to take the web app offline and then back on.  I just did....

3. Restart Website in IIS - hit next and instead of the error....the setup finished.

:-/
i have the same problem.
sadly i am using dotnetnuke in a hosted environment and as such i can't run tools like AspNet_RegSQL.exe

i could however install the older release 1.9.5.RC1 in that same environment (same webserver, same mssql 2008 (it installed as stand alone app and not DNN mod.)

i could stop the website and stop start the application pool. but it didn't work.
