Page_load not loaded

hello, could you please help me. I am trying to create news module.

I add this function in view.ascx

public IDataReader getNews()
{
return SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(ConnectionString, "dbo.Getnews");

}

then at the page load I add

SqlDataProvider sqlPro = new SqlDataProvider();
sqlPro.getNews();

but no thing works

the SP works fine in SQL

Hi Hani,

You can login as administrator, go "Admin-->Event Viewer" page, and you will see the details error messages which may give you some guide.

Thanks, Eileen.

could you please explain for me how I can do I debug. I insert a break point on the page_load function. and when the dnn website uploaded it didn't go to the page_load function to understand the problem.

second.

do you have any example how to use dnn with SQL. there is a video on the site. but I need more specifice example.

Hi Hani,

To debug a DNN website, you need to run the visual studio as administrator to open your project,

then go menu "Debug-->Attach to Process" (Ctrl+Alt+P):

Select the "w3wp.exe" process which related to your DNN website, the username will indicate:

Put some non-database code in the page_load event to see if that works. Something like a response.write or setting text to a label.
