ASP.NET webforms in DNN

I am a long time .NET developer that has programmed using webforms. I have built applications that have custom forms that can Create, Read, Update, and Delete database items. This could be tied ot SQL server tables or Access table or some other data source.

I would like to know how to do this in DNN. Create a page and build a form with Visual Studio .NET and have it Create, Read, Update, and Delete database items. I am not sure how you would do this within the constraints of DNN. I would just make a new ASP.NET webforms application and build it myself but this client needs it all to be done in DNN. With webforms it is easy but I have no idea about doing it in DNN.

Can anyone suggest how or point me in some direction?

I wondering can you do all the same things in a Module that a Webform can do?

Like having Panels and connecting the form to external data sources.

The client has an access database external application with forms in
access written in VB that need to be built in DNN. If it was web forms it
would be easy, time consuming but easy to do.

I need to figure out how to do that very same thing in DNN now

Mike,

Look over Chris' template here:

http://christoctemplate.codeplex.com/

This is what I use to build my modules.

Check out the documentation too. There's some good info there. Also, make sure you get the correct version based on the DNN version you have.

If you have any questions, post on the forums.

Hi Mike,

All the requirements, that you have mentioned above are all possible in a module.
Please follow this basic module development link by Chris Hammond

I hope you will get all your doubts clear from this video

Thanks

Cheers..!!!
